Thanks for your interest in becoming a KNM podcast host!
If you’re already hosting a podcast somewhere else and want to guest or join on a more regular basis, do let us know. If you’re interested in hosting but don’t have prior experience, that’s just fine, we’ll train you, but you’ll need the following:
- Be 18 years old or older
- Personality
- USB headset microphone (analog mics, the type with 2 plugs are not acceptable, nor are stick/desk mics, no exceptions in this area). The mic that all of the regular Kore New Media hosts us is the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset
. After literally thousands of dollars and a couple hundred hours spent on testing various mics, this was found to be far superior to any other mic available, and for about $25 (online, $40 in stores), you can’t beat it!
- Punctuality
- Determined
- Team Player
- Computer savvy is a plus (knowledge of Audacity, Skype and FTP programs are used daily here at KNM) but not required… we’ll train you
- If possible, pick up the Microsoft Arc wireless mouse (uses AAA batteries). It’s the quietest mouse we’ve found and doesn’t make an annoying click noise while recording!
